Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate are the prices?

Prices are estimates gathered from weekly ads, in-store visits, and community submissions. They may not match what you see in-store due to location differences, loyalty card requirements, or recent changes. Always verify at the store before buying.

How often are prices updated?

We aim to update prices weekly, but some may be older. Expired or stale prices are shown with reduced opacity so you can tell at a glance what is current. Sale prices include their expiration date when available.

Why is a price marked as expired?

Prices have an expiration date based on when we expect them to change (usually tied to weekly ad cycles). An expired price may still be accurate — it just means we have not verified it recently.

Which stores do you cover?

We focus on major grocery stores in the Sacramento area including WinCo, Walmart, Costco, Raley's, Safeway, Aldi, Grocery Outlet, and more. We are always adding new stores.

How can I help?

The easiest way is to email a photo of a price tag or receipt to prices@sacgroceries.com. You can also use our Submit Price form. Every submission helps your neighbors save money.

Do sale prices require a loyalty card?

Some sale prices may require a store loyalty card (e.g., Safeway Club Card, Raley's Something Extra). We note this when possible, but always check the fine print at the store.

Is SacGroceries affiliated with any store?

No. SacGroceries is an independent, community-driven project. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any grocery store.

Can I use this data for my own project?

The price data is collected for community use. If you want to use it for a project that benefits Sacramento shoppers, get in touch at prices@sacgroceries.com and we will see how we can help.
